About Writers Block Live
I started out to create this site just for my own use; my goal was to develop a tool to help me organize and write my new book (Jobs I’ve Known) which I had been trying to start for three years. As I began to work on the site I realized that opening it up to the public, and getting feedback as I wrote, could be extremely useful. Thus was born Writers Block Live.
Writing a book may be easy for some, but definitely not for me. Writers Block Live will put you right there among the chaos and pain of creation. See me struggle to remember the events I’m writing about, and grope around in the dark trying to find the right words to describe them. See the unpolished beginnings and hopefully watch them morph into something good.
But you can be more than just an observer; leave comments on articles that you like (or don’t like); tell me about things that don’t make sense; offer suggestions about content or style or spelling. It will all help me move things in the right direction.
About Me (Mike Evangelist)
I have been in the Mac business since 1987, and a Mac user for even longer. My first exposure to a Macintosh (at a Team Electronics store in St Paul) in 1984 affected me so much that it led me to change careers.

The shoe that changed my life
From April 2000 to July 2002 I was a director of product marketing at Apple, responsible for Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, iDVD and few others.
How I went from merely being a fan of Apple’s products, living far away from Cupertino, to actually working for the company and for Steve Jobs himself is the what this book will be about. Oh, and I’ll also explain that shoe.

I’m writing ‘Jobs I’ve Known’ because I want to get it all ‘on paper’ before I forget some of the amazing experiences. But it’s my sincere hope that you will find it interesting, enlightening and maybe even inspirational. And even if you don’t, I’d still love to hear your comments. You can reach me directly using the e-mail form.
Thanks for stopping by.
