Stefan, Freddie, and I sat outside the Starbucks at De Anza and Stevens Creek sipping our coffees and trying to convince ourselves that this wasn’t a dream. In about 30 minutes we’d drive the few blocks to Infinite Loop for our first meeting with Steve Jobs; the topic of the meeting: Apple acquiring Astarte.

I was fascinated by that blue clicker; it seemed so clunky compared to all the other technology involved in Steve’s keynote; and ridiculously big too, considering that it only had four buttons. (more…)

Once the Letter of Intent was signed, meaning that Apple would be buying the company unless something fraudulent came up, all of us at Astarte were in a very complex situation. We were accustomed to telling anyone and everyone about what we were working on, what our product roadmap looked like, and generally blowing our own horns whenever possible. (more…)
