Frequently Asked Questions

QuestionWill you be selling a printed version of ‘Jobs I’ve Known’?

Yes, once the book is complete, it will be available through traditional book sellers (I hope).

QuestionWhen with the book be finished?

I wish I knew the answer to that question, but ‘real life’ has gotten in the way for the past year. I am committed to pushing forward, however.

QuestionHow can I get a job at Apple?

The best place to start is at the Apple Jobs web page. There you can learn more about the openings they have and what the job requirements might be. (or do what I did…get a job at a company that gets acquired by Apple.) :-)

QuestionDoes Apple and/or Steve Jobs approve of you writing this book?

No. In fact, I asked Steve and he told me specifically that he’d ‘prefer I didn’t’. But he also said ‘it’s America and you can do what you want…’ just not to expect any support of the project from Apple.

QuestionI want to contact Steve Jobs to pitch my product/service/idea to him; can you help me reach him?

As you might imagine, Steve gets so many unsolicited proposals that your chances of success are slim, but here is his public e-mail: sjobs@apple.com. The incoming mail is screened by his assistants and they pass on anything of interest. Seriously, they read everything.

QuestionWhat’s the deal with that pen in the logo?

Edson Fountain Pen

It is a Waterman Edson fountain pen. I’ve often overcome writers block by simply picking up a fountain pen and pointing it at a blank sheet of paper. I wanted an Edson for years, and finally got this one for myself as a ‘reward’ when I went to work at Apple.
