World’s Largest iMac? Macworld Tokyo 2002

Tokyo Macworld Building For those you haven’t had the opportunity to visit Tokyo, I can tell you it is an amazing place for many reasons; not the least of which is the remarkable variety of architecture. Macworld Expo Tokyo in 2002 was held in this cool building (Tokyo Big Sight Convention Center). I remember being struck by the way the building seemed to vaguely mirror the look of the new iMac on the billboard.

This awesome building was in the same area; it houses Fuji Television.

    Nice Building :) .

Do you have some pictures from the inside, would be really interesting what it looks like inside.
Do you know how big the billboard was?

  2. David – unhappily I don’t have any from inside. You can sort of get the scale from the person in the foreground. Mike

Looks as if godzilla’s gonna come and knock them over at any moment…

I think I built one of those with an erector set when I was a kid. Not so big though, it only fit hamsters.

Funny you should say that. Godzilla did have an mishap with that building in one of his movies…

The second building is incredible :O

  7. Gfan – I almost forgot about that – I even have the movie on my TiVo. Here’s a screen grab.

    ‘Godzilla vs. Destroyer’

This movie is also relevant because the young hero uses a Mac. He even has an Apple poster on the wall of his room!

Indeed an original architecture the second building has.
