Hello from China
My schedule has been grueling, and we’ve had very little time to see the sights, spending most of the days in factories. But I have at least a couple photos to prove I’m here; first at Lake Tai near Wuxi (woo-shee), and below from the Bund in Shanghai.

You’re in Shanghai!! I just were there at the end of January/beginning of February. It’s a nice city. Have you been to the top of the Pearl TV Tower? It’s the second largest building in the world and the first in Asia. Great view from there.
Anyways, have a nice time!
Looks like a awesome place but there are some … weird looking buildings
This is a really great Skyline?
How long will you be there?
I must say, those are some pretty interesting buildings, but the first picture; it looks like you’re photoshopped in.
Maybe it’s just the internet culture we live in today that makes us skeptical of all photos, but it does look interesting.
Not that I think you’d have any reason to doctor a photo anyhow.
Maybe you could shed some light on how the picture was taken?
How many hours of travel to get there Mike?
Michael – that ‘look’ is caused by the use of fill-flash. Because the sun was behind me, my face would have been completely in shadow; using the flash on the camera filled in what would have been completely dark. It’s an old-fashioned technique. Here’s more info on how it works.
Carlos – I took a short flight to Chicago (about an hour), then a 14 hour flight to Shanghai from there. Too long!
Oh, great tip Mike! Thanks a lot.
Super job with the technique as well.
