I made a bunch of behind-the-scenes changes to the site today, including upgrading the version of WordPress, enabling permalinks and finally figuring out how to get the category list to sort properly. I think everything’s working OK, but please let me know if you find any problems.

The RSS feed got broken a couple of days ago – which likely makes it unrelated to these upgrades – and still only contains excerpts rather than the full articles. It’s highly annoying.
The feeds weren’t broken; I had switched them to ’summary’ mode while I tried to figure out a few things.
I just set them back to ‘full’ this afternoon. But to be honest, I’m not sure I can leave them that way. I’ve been watching the site traffic very closely, and full feeds really reduces the traffic to the site’s actual pages. Which makes it much less likely that I’ll ever make this thing work financially.
Hey, I got a VDeck error when clicking from the RSS feed to the actual post. I use VDeck too, and suspect that you need to update your htaccess file — VDeck won’t let you do it automatically through the Wordpress control panel.
Enjoying the blog!
Hi, concerning full feeds, just turn it off, reading full articles trough an rss feed sucks, and as you said it’ll work better for you financially.
Reading an full RSS feed with NewsMac Pro is actually very nice. But even then, I don’t mind just opening the article with the built-in web browser.
FIY, I’m not affiliated with ThinkMac in any way
You could always include some banners in your full RSS feed, some feeds already do this. For me, I tend to click some banners if I like the feed, actively supporting the blog in question. It’s a quick and easy way to show some appreciation for the nice articles.
