My third office, with a view of the Quad
My first office in the QuickTime group was the standard-issue variety with a small window next to the door looking out into the hallway, with a great view of the copier and printer. When the Software division was formed I moved to building 1, into a little cave of an office in a dark corner of the building. Not that I really minded; I wasn’t at my desk that much anyway. But only a few weeks later someone was transfered out of the group, leaving a window office available. It took only a little ‘lobbying’ to convince the boss to let me move in.

Nice! I especially love the lava lamp. What where the various computers used for?
nice mike! i know exactly where that is.
Robert – One of the G4’s was reserved strictly for trying out new applications that I didn’t want to put on my ‘main’ machine. The other G4 was for normal work. And a PowerBook for e-mail and mobility.
Who says “windows” can’t be an inspiration!
Wow, yours is better than Dilbert’s cubicle
I soo want to make an ‘Office Space’ joke right now!
Office Space – funniest work environment movie EVER.
I would be starving for a Cinema display, but I wouldn’t trade it for the window.
We need to talk about your TPS reports.

JD – Back then you had to have a pretty good reason to get a Cinema Display (they were still $3000 at the time.) I tried, but the boss didn’t go for it.
You say you weren’t at your desk that much – where were you?
How did apple work – were there a lot of meetings?
